This is my second Mophie. The first had been dropped many, many times and finally the edge had given way on one corner. Everything still worked - just like a mophie, but the case had become loose.
Looking on line I found this mophie, bigger, brighter AND more powerful. Bought it, slipped it onto my phone - it fits ever so like a glove, the non-slick exterior makes it so much easier to hold onto - and the bright yellow makes it so easy to spot. The battery lasts and lasts, even after I let it recharge the iphone, I'll have a "dot" or two left for another charge - if I remember to turn off the recharge button - a better practice because the iPhone takes more juice when it's in a charging mode.
The front facing speakers are just a really added benefit. You're able to hear your tunes, your movies so much better. The earphone hole on top is a scooch bigger, I believe, making my headphone connection much easier to get fully into the slot.
What could be: I've suggested an iPhone (female) to small USB cord - the cord that goes into the mophie, so I could hook up to any iPhone appliance without taking the mophie off the iPhone. I've also recommended building in a kickstand on one of the edges so I wouldn't have to hold it to watch a movie or read.
Even without the changes, it rates five stars.
Now, if they'd just make it water impermeable, protecting the iPhone and the mophie from water damage...(Can we give 7 stars?)

This is great for the battery. It is great as a case, very protective. Nice looking, etc... This is my at least 5th mophie. My other 4 were for the 3gs. The 3gs was a much better design. The micro usb connected to the bottom of the phone and stayed in. On the new one, the connector falls out when charging at the simplest movement. Additionally, the 3gs version had the led lights on the back of the phone which were covered when the phone was lying flat charging at night. On the new mophie, the led lights are located on the bottom of the phone and can not be covered by anything. They are very bright. My boyfriend says it is like sleeping next to a hotel no vacancy sign. He is right. I loved the old design--lights on bottom and plug in on bottom.
